Dieter Helm has published a whole series of books on climate change and the solutions to it . The book is a bit dated now(published 2020) but  Net Zero is well worth a read for a high level look at what needs to happen to avert this planetary crisis and make everyone's life better.  The "Electric Future' is especially useful as this is where we need to be headed - and fast.  Complete electrification of transport and heating through adoption of EVs and heat pumps has the potential to reduce our planet heating carbon emissions by over 50% and these are rapidly falling in price.  I recommend reading two of Professor Mark Maslins books before Net Zero, 'Climate Change - A Very Short Introduction' (2021 version)which provides all the essential facts to equip us to speak confidently and persuasively on this issue.  The other book by Prof Maslin is 'How to Save Our Planet - The Facts'(2021). It's short, punchy and full of easily understandable facts including that there are more Lego people on Earth than real people! Enjoy.

I also recommend watching the following short(10 to  30 minute) video series on You Tube to quickly get an appreciation of the climate emergency and what we can all do personally to improve things -  often to our own personal benefit in the  short term; 'Everything Electric' created and presented by Robert Llewellyn star of 90s TV comedy Red Dwarf.  Robert  combines his satirical comedy with reviews of EVs, solar panels, home energy storage batteries, heat pumps and much more. 'Just Have a Think' researched and presented by Dave Borlance who has a professional background in technology delivering short easy to understand inputs on the climate crisis including emerging science on the crisis and  technological solutions to it now being adopted in many  countries There are many other excellent evidence based video inputs on You Tube including the internationally respected short punchy 'TED talks 'presented by scientists and academics.  I will post some of these to this site in future.
