New Food Waste Bins!!
From 19th January, new food bins will start to be delivered to households. This will take many weeks.
Your will receive: a 5 litre grey kitchen caddy, a roll of compostable liners, and a 23 litre outdoor lockable food waste bin. These will be accompanied by an instruction leaflet and a sticker to number your bin.
New Kitchen & Kerbside Food Waste Bins
The first food waste collection will be: 30th March 2026 (put your food waste bin out before 7am, it will be emptied weekly)
Do not use plastic bags or newspaper to line your kitchen caddy - use the compostable liner provided or other compostable seed liners available.
When the caddy is almost full, tie the liner bag and transfer this to your big food bin outside.
You do not need to use liners at all - transfer the food waste directly from the caddy to the food waste bin.
Wash out your caddy, or put it in the dishwasher regularly.
The kerbside bin is lockable - please always lock your bin to deter foxes and other creatures from attacking your bin.
