From Monday 30 March, food waste collections have been launching across Erewash and England, a major milestone in helping us recycle more, cut carbon emissions, and make our borough even greener. As part of this rollout, we’ve added six brand new food waste collection vehicles to our fleet.
One of these has already been proudly named Ernie, after a local boy with autism who adores bin lorries and recently visited our waste depot on his 8th birthday. Four more vehicles will soon be named by pupils through a local schools competition.
