Cotmanhay has been selected to receive £20 million through the Government's Pride in Place Programme. This is a new government funding programme, aimed at putting power into the hands of local people in some of the most in-need neighbourhoods across the UK, so that they can decide how to regenerate their local area. It gives local people control of up to £2m every year for the next ten years, to be spent on projects that will make a real difference to the neighbourhoods they live in.
The Pride in Place programme is fundamentally community-led, requiring meaningful engagement and collaboration with local residents and stakeholders to shape both the long-term vision and investment priorities. With this in mind, the first step is to identify the themes and priorities that the Pride in Place programme will look to address. A short survey (it will take no longer that 5 minutes to complete) has been designed to help understand:
• What matters most to local people
• The challenges residents face
• Opportunities people want to see over the next 10 years
Your responses will help influence future projects and improvements in Cotmanhay.
This is the first stage of community engagement. At a later stage groups will be invited to submit project ideas which will also inform the vision.
